22/10/2021 The popular Saudi Netflix series Takki is set to premiere its third season on the 28th of October. What was originally a Youtube series, uploaded in 2012, has now become a Middle Eastern favourite. The drama series follows two young Saudi creatives, Malik and Bayan, and how they grapple with the trials and tribulations of life in Saudi. Takki gives an insight into the lives of Saudi youngsters before the surge of entertainment and film events emerged in the country. Finally premiering six years after the release of season 2, season 3 will be set in Jeddah. Malik returns to the city, only to discover the dramatic changes that have occurred in the film industry. "My journey with Takki almost 10 years ago on Youtube, and since then the show gained wide traction in Saudi Arabia. Takki was rated as one of the most popular YouTube series originating out of the Middle East and the first Saudi drama series achieving a record-breaking number of views. Today, I am proud of the return of Takki with a new season exclusively on Netflix which will allow millions of Netflix members -whether Saudi or global audiences- to watch the show that gives insights into the Saudi youth’s struggles and ambitions from different aspects." said Mohammed Makki, Director of "Takki".
