16/01/2022 TVF International has closed a raft of sales for its catalog across Asia and set its London showcase event for March 1, 2022. Among TVF’s sales, Discovery, Inc. licensed a package of documentaries for Asia markets, including How Islam Built the Modern World. The 45' minutes documentary focuses on the foundations for our extraordinary high-tech world coming from Islamic and Arabic speaking scientists of the Middle Ages shows what links the amazing discoveries and developments of the so-called Golden Age of Islam to the state-of-the-art technology that we all know and take for granted today. Dr Hayat Sindi and Professor Jim Al-Khalili trace the stories behind the genesis and development of the car, flight, robotics and algorithms; the technology that transformed astronomy, farming, hospitals and surgery and the creation of the world’s first university. Hayat Sindi left her home and family in Mecca as a teen to travel to the UK to become a scientists. After working hard to learn English, she became the first Saudi woman to be accepted at Cambridge University to study in the field of biotechnology. She went on to earn her Ph.D., and became a visiting scholar at Harvard University where she and her team invented the diagnostic life-saving device .
