Dubai Content Market Heats Up, Confirming Key MENA Buyers and New International Players With just one month remaining, the Dubai International Content Market (DICM) 2025 is solidifying its position as the region’s essential content and co-production hub. The event, running November 4-5, is already signaling a high-volume market, with over 500 meetings pre-scheduled. The key draw for international exhibitors is the confirmed attendance of the region’s heaviest hitters. Top-tier buyers including MBC, Shahid, OSN, STARZPLAY, TOD, Abu Dhabi Media, and Dubai Media will be onsite, providing direct access to the decision-makers steering MENA’s content strategy. This year’s market, held at Madinat Jumeirah, also features a significant influx of new international players. In a first for the event, Unifrance will be present, bringing French content from companies like Only Disturb, Ampersand, and Miam! Animation. The market will also see an expanded Indian presence with newcomers Shemaroo, Indywood, and NH Studioz, alongside the world-famous Belgian animation "The Smurfs." This international lineup, which includes pavilions from Turkiye (ICC), Korea (KOCCA, JCIA), and Roskino, will meet a robust regional drive for new content. Two major features are focused on developing and funding new IP. The Producers Connect Hub returns to facilitate co-production, tapping into a MENA market segment growing at over 20% annually. Additionally, the event will launch the first-ever "Spotlight Stories: The DICM Pitching Challenge" for Arabic content. Regional storytellers will pitch live to a jury of producers and execs, including Madonna Khafaja (Whitebee Media), Michel Zreik, and Badih Fattouh, with the winner announced on November 4. The DICM Talks agenda will tackle industry-critical topics, including the evolution of Ramadan content, micro-drama, sports media rights, and the global rise of Arabic cinema, with insights from executives at MBC Group, Katara Studios, Film Clinic, and Omdia.
